The Next Chapter.
There’s a new story flickering to life here at Dozeo, and this one is going to feel a little different. It’s called The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lantern, and it’s currently in development.
If The Silent Song of the Forest was about soft connection, melting into nature, and finding quiet through stillness, then The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lantern explores something more akin to solitude and the peace we can find in routine.
You’ll feel the same slow rhythm and gentle cues woven into every Dozeo story including steady breathing, grounding sensory detail, and a sense of quiet, but this one carries a slightly different tone. Where The Silent Song drifts inward, The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lantern looks outward. It’s about light, resilience, and the peace that can comes from slowing down and simply observing.
A New Voice (Literally)…
For this story, I’ll be experimenting with something new, and frankly, a bit scary: I’ll be narrating it myself.
It’s a bit of an experiment, since I’ve always thought of my voice as… well, monotone. But maybe that’s exactly what this story calls for. The goal isn’t performance, it’s presence. A steady voice guiding listeners through the waves, like the keeper guiding ships to safety.
This will be the first time I’m behind the mic, so it may sound a little different. I don’t know if anyone will like it, but I think it’s OK to experiment this early in Dozeo’s lifespan. My long-term plan is to generally leave narration to the professionals like I did with The Silent Song of the Forest. However, I don’t have the money to keep producing one story per month using professional narrators for each one. So you’ll have to make do with me on this one.
Maybe people will like it. Who knows? If not, I’ll pivot and use someone with a more dynamic voice for future narrations. If people do like it, I’ll mix in as a narrator here and there.
The Pipeline:
The script is being shaped, the soundscape is still being tuned, and the sea is still finding its rhythm. But I wanted to share early because, as with all creative things, stories grow best when their progress is shared.
If you have story themes, imagery, or narrative ideas you’d love to see explored in in future Dozeo stories I’d love to hear them. You can reply to this post or email me directly at hello@dozeo.app.
Your ideas help guide the light.
P.S. - If you enjoyed the narration in The Silent Song of the Forest and would like to work with the narrator on a project of your own please contact me at hello@dozeo.app. He was a pleasure to work with and I would absolutely recommend him if you’re looking for a narrator.
